The medieval castle Juval Castle (Schloss Juval) perches on a hill at the entrance to the Schnalstal Valley. The world-famous extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner has not only made this castle his private residence but has also created an impressive museum housing several art collections. The museum is dedicated to the „Myth of the Mountain“ and features, among other highlights, a unique collection of Tibetan artifacts, a gallery with paintings of the world’s sacred mountains, and a mask collection spanning five continents.
