On Marbled Traces

Discover the marble village of Laas (Lasa). The world-famous Laas marble is quarried high above the village and transported down into the valley via a unique inclined railway. There, it is masterfully processed in the local marble works and by traditional stonemasons in their workshops.

An event of a very special kind is “Marble and Apricots” (Marmor und Marillen), which takes place every year in August. Numerous market stalls throughout the village invite you to stroll around, browse, and enjoy.
