Leisure hiking along the “Waalwege” irrigation trails
Centuries ago, artificial irrigation channels known as “Waale” were carved into the meadows and hillsides. A small path, the so-called “Waalweg”, was cleared alongside each channel for maintenance and care. Today, these historic pathways along the water channels have been transformed into beautiful, scenic hiking trails.
